Valentina Saric scored 20 points and Priory beat Mills 43-34 in the championship game of the Kelly Shea Gallo Memorial Tournament at Mills on Friday night.

Saric, who was named Tournament MVP, added seven rebounds and three steals for Priory (3-0), which plays Oakland Tech on Saturday.

Saric scored 72 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in the tournament.

Menlo fell to host Moreau Catholic 62-35 in the semifinals of the Lady Cat Classic in Hayward on Friday. Freshman Karen Xin scored eight points to lead Menlo, which plays Acalanes for third place on Saturday.

At the Mullahey Chrysler Dodge Jeep Holiday Classic in San Luis Obispo, Menlo-Atherton beat St. Joseph’s 35-33 and St. Francis topped Mission Prep 45-26.

Elsewhere, Castilleja fell to University Prep (San Jose) 45-26.

Boys basketball

Emmer Nichols scored 13 points, one of three players who reached double figures, in helping Sacred Heart Prep beat San Ramon Valley 49-34 in the semifinals of the Crusader Classic on Friday night.

Aidan Braccia added 12 points and Kevin Carney had 10 for the Gators, who meet host Riordan in Friday’s championship game. Nichols also led SHP with 11 rebounds. Sam Norris had eight rebounds.

At the Cupertino Tournament, Rogan Gibbons scored 13 points to lead Gunn past Sequoia 52-32. Carter Palen and Trevor Sato each scored six points to lead Sequoia.

Boys’ soccer

Senior Jonah Blaydes-Greenberg scored late to lift Menlo School past host Palo Alto 2-1 in a non-league match Friday.

The Vikings (1-1) took the lead in the first few minutes on a goal by Jason Majors, with an assist from Rhys Foote.

Menlo (1-1) tied the match just before halftime on a corner kick. Junior Aidan Skinner won a header that found Andre Gonzalez, who redirected the ball into the back of the net.

Paly goalie Charlie Merkel, who recorded five saves, kept diverting Menlo’s scoring chances until senior Amari Makasini fired a shot that rebounded out to Daniel Louie, who slid it to Blaydes-Greenberg.

Senior Alex Chen, Emilio Velten and Colin Thomas played solid defense for Menlo, which plays Wednesday at Sequoia.

In another non-league match, Mountain View edged host Monta Vista, 1-0.
