A man who went missing from East Palo Alto on Monday and may become disoriented at times was found in Redwood City on Tuesday morning, according to police and the California Highway Patrol.
Roy Gyles, 70, went missing at about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, when he was last seen on University Avenue near Runnymede Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. He suffers from a medical condition, walks with a limp and may become disoriented.
The agency issued a Silver Alert for Gyles on behalf of the East Palo Police Department in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. The alert is activated when a missing person is elderly or suffers from developmental or cognitive impairments.
Gyles, an East Palo Alto resident, was found around 4 a.m. Tuesday at the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office in Redwood City, East Palo Alto police Cmdr. Jeff Liu said.

Some counties have a service providing radio locater bracelets to people with medical conditions which disorient them and cause them to wander. It is called Project Lifesaver, and is very effective and pretty inexpensive.
