An 89-year-old Palo Alto man reported missing after he didn’t return home for an afternoon walk on Monday was found at the Baylands Nature Preserve around midnight, police said.

Tsuruji “Mike” Seto, 89, left his family’s home in the 2300 block of Carmel Drive around 4 p.m. and didn’t return as of about 11 p.m., police said in a press release issued late Monday night. He told his family he was going out for a walk.

The home is just off Oregon Expressway and about a half-mile away from U.S. Highway 101.

Seto was found around midnight at the Baylands off of Faber Place, police said on Twitter Tuesday morning. He appeared to be OK and was transported to a hospital for an evaluation.

The Police Department alerted neighboring agencies of the missing man in its efforts to locate him.
