Menlo College's Orozco named CCC Men's Wrestler of the Week

Menlo College men’s wrestler Anthony Orozco was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Red Lion Wrestler of the Week after winning the 184-pound division of the Missouri Valley Invitational over the weekend.

The top-ranked senior from Murrieta produced yet another top-notch tournament title, winning all five of his matches, including a pin and three by technical fall.

The defending national champion at 184 pounds, Orozco defeated three ranked opponents en route to the championship, including No. 11 Marco Renato of Eastern Oregon, No. 8 Riley Jaramillo of University of Saint Mary’s and No. 5 Colton Gonzalez of Marian.

Orozco (29-4) helped eighth-ranked Menlo finish second, its’ best finish ever at the tournament, which drew 42 teams.

Oaks’ Eric Reyes (20-4) won the 141-pound title in Marshall, Missouri. Menlo hosts Southern Oregon at 7 p.m. Friday.
