Stanford scored the first seven points of the third quarter to grab a one-point lead over host Oregon in a Pac-12 Conference women's basketball contest Thursday. But then Sabrina Ionescu put her foot down and the Ducks flew past the Cardinal, 87-55.

Kiana Williams scored five of her team-high 15 points in the first 1:49 of the third quarter to help Stanford (15-2, 4-1) open a 37-36 advantage. With a flick of her wrist, Ionescu crushed any lingering hope of a possible upset in Eugene. Oregon answered Stanford's seemingly futile gesture with a 43-12 run and safely tucked the conference victory in its back pocket.

Ionescu scored a career-high 37 points, setting an all-time high for points at the school, and left enough room on the stat sheet for three others to reach double figures in scoring. Satou Sabally, Ruthy Hebard and Minyon Moore combined for another 39 points. Ionescu and Sabally each had 11 rebounds and Ionescu recorded seven assists.

"They had Sabrina and we didn't," Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer said. "She was phenomenal. She is that good and the people around her are very good also. We have our work cut out for us to be ready for them the next time."

The Cardinal has its work cut out for it Sunday when it meets Oregon State in a noon contest in Corvallis. OSU is, like Stanford and Oregon, ranked in the top 10.

Lacie Hull added 10 points for Stanford, which lost in Eugene for the first time since 2015.
