Stanford’s Haley Jones was named Pac-12 Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after helping the Cardinal win the Greater Victoria Invitational title over the weekend in Canada.

Jones, who attended Mitty in San Jose, averaged 13.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in top-ranked Stanford’s victories over Cal Baptist, then-No. 18 Syracuse and then-No. 10 Mississippi State.

Jones, who scored 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting (.583) against Syracuse, was named to the all-tournament team after leading Stanford in scoring. She was 4-of-4 from the line and added a 3-pointer.

Jones recorded season-bests in rebounds (eight) and assists (four) against Mississippi State in addition to scoring 13 points.

This is the first Freshman of the Week honor for Jones and the 10th all-time for Stanford.

Pinewood grad Hannah Jump, also a freshman, also enjoyed a big game against the Orange, knocking down eight 3-pointers for 24 points.
