Menlo College's Tim Staerz, Giovanny Gomes, and Michael Weber were named to the all-Golden State Athletic Conference men's soccer team it was learned Tuesday. The Oaks landed a trio of players on the all-conference team for the second straight season.
Menlo (12-4) is the No. 2 seed for the GSAC playoffs and has won five straight, all by shutout, to complete the regular season.
Staerz has been leading the offensive charge for the Oaks all season and is being recognized as an all-conference in his only season as an Oak.
Gomes scored seven of his eight goals in conference games and 16 of his 19 points. He scored a hat trick in a win over William Jessup.
Weber, who transferred from Georgia Gwinnett College, made an immediate impact with his ability as one of the top ball facilitators in the conference. This season, Weber scored twice and added six assists, tying for the team lead wirth Staerz. Six of his ten points came in conference matches, including five points in his first two conference games against Westmont and San Diego Christian.
Westmont's standout defender Tim Heiduk took home GSAC Player of the Year honors in a season that saw him score a career-best four goals. He was coached by Dave Wolf, the Coach of the Year. San Diego Christian's William Nyambo was awarded Newcomer of the Year honors.

Menlo goalie Andres Zimmermann earned NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week and recording his fourth and fifth consecutive shutouts of the season. He becomes the first Oak since David Beary in 2014 to take home an NAIA national men's soccer weekly award.
