Stanford football, volleyball players earn weekly honors

Stanford senior Audriana Fitzmorris earned Pac-12 Conference Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors, leading a sweep of the weekly awards the conference announced Monday.

Grad Madeleine Gates earned Defensive Player of the Week honors and Kendall Kipp was named Freshman of the Week for the second time in three weeks.

Fitzmorris, whose 583 blocks are sixth all-time at Stanford, earned her sixth career weekly honor after leading the Cardinal past Oregon and Oregon State last week. She recorded 16 kills in the win over the Ducks, adding a career-high nine digs, and 12 kills against the Beavers.

Gates had a season-best eight blocks to go with eight kills in the win over Oregon She added seven blocks and nine kills on .450 hitting against OSU. She earned her second career honor and her first with Stanford.

Kipp matched Fitzmorris with 16 kills against Oregon and 12 kills against the Beavers. She matched her season-best with four blocks against the Ducks.

Third-ranked Stanford (9-3, 3-1) hosts Arizona at 8 p.m. Friday night and Arizona State at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Stanford cornerback Paulsen Adebo was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, Drew Dalman earned Offensive Lineman of the Week honors and Simi Fehoko was selected as Freshman of the Week for their performances in the Cardinal's 23-13 victory over then No. 15 Washington.

Adebo matched his career-high with four pass breakups and had five tackles. He was part of a defense that held the Huskies to 206 passing yards and 88 rushing yards.

Dalman led the way on the O-Line that featured three freshmen. He also created holes for Cameron Scarlett, who rushed for for a career-high 151 yards.

Fehoko had season bests with three catches for 91 yards and his first career touchdown reception, a 42-yard scoring play that stands as Stanford's longest completion of the season.
