Palo Alto football has a chance to make history this season

Palo Alto has a chance to become the winningest football program in Northern California history this season.

Paly enters the 2019 season with 656 wins all-time, according to records maintained by Cal-Hi Sports. That’s the fourth-highest total in state history and second among schools in Northern California behind Berkeley, which goes into the 2019 season with 661.

“That’s pretty amazing,’’ Palo Alto coach Nelson Gifford tweeted when informed of the fact. “I had no idea. History runs deep (at) Paly.’’

Bakersfield (789) and Long Beach Poly (775) are tops in the state.

Paly had a 10-2 record last year while Berkeley went 0-10. The Yellowjackets have a new coach this year in James Hodgins, a former Oak Grove High, San Jose State and St. Louis Rams player who had several years of success as the coach at Berean Christian.

Does this total include the yearly matches against the Ohlone Indians?

Oxymoron: a definition and example.

a 'Woke-Joke'. Something obliviously self-righteous, offering Russian bots the opportunity to proliferate and retweet in red state media to help ensure their preferred choices in upcoming elections.
