Nathan Fleischli threw a three-hitter and Sacred Heart Prep had another big day at the plate in beating host Menlo School 9-0 in a Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division baseball game Friday.

Reece Lindquist and Peter Desler each drove in a pair of runs for the Gators (6-5-1, 2-2), who host Capuchino on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Menlo (3-4, 0-2) hosts Mountain View in a nonleague game at 4 p.m. Monday.

Fleischli (2-0, 2.25) struck out 10 and did not walk a batter in his 85-pitch outing, which included 63 strikes.

Sacred Heart Prep scored 18 runs in the two games against Menlo after scoring 19 in its previous seven games combined. The Gators have improved their team batting average to .240 from .202 in the past week.

Ryan Mo, who was 4 for 5 with a triple, improved his average to .293 from .200 in one game.

Lindquist and Wednesday’s winning pitcher Parker Isaacson each collected two hits while Isaacson, Mo, Yianni Gardner, Braden Fitzgerald and Taylor Ferrario each drove in a run.

The Gators loaded the bases with no outs in the third. Two outs later, Desler delivered a two-run single. SHP scored three runs with two outs in the fourth. Isaacson walked ahead of Mo’s triple. Gardner walked, stole second and both runners scored on Lindquist’s single.

Fleischli retired 10 of the first 11 batters he faced. His toughest inning was the sixth, when a dropped third strike allowed CJ Ng to reach base and Bennett Norman followed with a single with one out. Fleischi struck out the final two hitters.

The Knights had a runner thrown at home in the fourth, otherwise no one else got any further than second base.

In the SCVAL De Anza Division, Palo Alto suffered its first league loss, a 5-2 decision to host Mountain View on Friday, ending a 10-game winning streak.

Hyunwoo Roh doubled twice and drove in a run and Matthew Caren drove in a run for the Vikings (10-3, 5-1), who visit Los Gatos at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Mountain View’s Jared Norris pitched a four-hitter for the Spartans (7-5-1, 3-3), who scored four times in the first and added a run in the second.

Dean Casey took over with one out in the first and kept Paly in it with 5 1/3 strong innings in which he gave up a run on five hits and struck out five.

Girls lacrosse

Hannah Shaw and Sally Norman each scored four goals and Menlo-Atherton beat visiting St. Francis, 15-3, in a West Bay Athletic League contest Friday.

Lauren Baker scored three goals and Leiney Paul scored twice and added three assists. Theresa McGannon and Ally Shaw also scored for the Bears (4-3, 2-1), who travel to play Mitty at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Menlo downed host Mitty, 15-6, in West Bay Athletic League play Friday.

The Knights (5-1, 3-0) dominated draw controls with senior Charlotte Swisher, who plans to play for Harvard next season, and junior Page Wolfenden each picking up six.

Junior Alyssa Sahami made six saves while sophomore Tatum Constant and senior Bella Scola, who is headed to Colorado College next year, each had two steals.

Boys volleyball

Gunn defeated host Sacred Heart Prep, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 25-20, in a Santa Clara Valley Athletic League El Camino Division contest on Friday.

The Titans (6-3, 3-1) are scheduled to visit University Prep for a nonleague match on Monday at 4 p.m. Sacred Heart Prep (10-5, 2-2) hosts Hillsdale at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
