PUBLIC AGENDA: Roof-deck proposal; interim school budget

A preview of Palo Alto government meetings for the week of Feb. 25.

CITY COUNCIL … The council plans to hold a closed session to discuss the city’s labor negotiations with the Service Employees International Union, Local 521, and to consider real property negotiations over a property at 3350 Birch St. The council then plans to hold a hearing to consider a proposal for a roof-deck at 285 Hamilton Ave., and for zoning changes to allow roof decks at other non-complying buildings in the downtown area; and to authorize the city manager to explore, negotiate and potentially submit an offer to buy the property at 3350 Birch St., next to Boulware Park. COUNCIL POLICY AND SERVICES COMMITTEE … The committee plans to hear a presentation on Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority about the new transit plan, including bus service reductions in Palo Alto. BOARD OF EDUCATION … The board will vote on priorities for the Cubberley Community Center master plan and discuss the district’s second interim budget, expanded transitional kindergarten and a guiding document for the superintendent’s “PAUSD Promise,” among other items. There will be informational reports on legal expenses, chronic absenteeism, Title IX and Public Records Act requests.
