Stanford senior Carolyn Lee struck out a career-high nine batters over 7 1/3 innings but the Cardinal dropped a 2-1 pitcher's duel to Weber State in eight innings on Sunday to finish play at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe.
Lee allowed two runs, one earned, on five hits and four walks (two intentional) in the complete game. Weber State's Tatiana Su'esu'e threw a 3-hitter.

Stanford hosts the DeMarini Invitational, which begins Thursday. The Cardinal (4-1) will play Pacific, Iowa State, Portland State and Colorado State.
Stanford posted season-bests on the uneven bars and floor exercise but host Arizona State pulled away in the final event on Sunday at Wells Fargo Arena.
The No. 19 Sun Devils responded with their highest point total of the season in the 196.375-195.000 win against the No. 24 Cardinal in a close meet settled in the final rotation.
Stanford led after the first event by scoring 49.050 on bars, as sophomore Kyla Bryant finished second (9.900) and freshman Grace Waguespack tied for third (9.875).
Junior Aleeza Yu captured vault with a score of 9.825, as Stanford slipped into comeback mode. Bryant earned a share of second on floor (9.925) and sophomore Taylor Lawson (9.900) placed fourth to tighten the meet.
