Abrahm DeVine’s win in the 200-yard individual medley highlighted Stanford’s second day of the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational on Thursday night at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
DeVine (1:42.71) earned the win the 200-yard individual medley, the third event of the evening session, after earning the top seed in preliminaries.
Jack LeVant (4:13.11) added a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with four Cardinal placing in the top seven.
In addition to LeVant, True Sweetser (4:15.71) placed fourth with James Murphy and Johannes Calloni (4:18.50) sharing sixth place.
Stanford began the evening session with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Cole Cogswell, Brad Zdroik, Mason Gonzalez and Patrick Conaton (1:17.97) were Stanford’s fastest team with Hank Poppe, Jordan Greenberg, David Madej and Alex Boratto (1:20.39) placing seventh.
Alex Liang (1:44.59) followed DeVine in the 200 IM, shaving nearly one second off of his preliminary time to place fourth with Brennan Pastorek (1:46.02) in seventh. Jack Walsh (1:45.38) won the B-final and Will Macmillan (1:45.79)
Cole Cogswell (19.71) was Stanford’s fastest swimmer in the 50-yard freestyle, placing eighth, while Gonzalez (20.18) and Greenberg (20.55) also earned second swims in the B-final.
Stanford took fourth and fifth place in the final event of the evening, the 400-yard medley relay. Ryan Dudzinski, Matt Anderson, Zdroik and DeVine (3:07.24) led the way with Conaton, Poppe, Macmillan and LeVant (3:07.39) not far behind.
