Sarah Klass and Aria Fischer each scored three goals to help the Cardinal beat California, 11-5, Saturday to clinch a spot in the championship match of the USA Senior Women’s Water Polo Championships at El Toro High.

Makenzie Fischer added a goal and three assists for the Cardinal, which beat SoCal B, 13-4, earlier in the day as Anna Rajaratnam scored four times and Madison Berggren had three goals.

The Cardinal and the defending champion New York Athletic Club, comprised of several Stanford-affiliated Olympians, will meet for the title Sunday at 1 p.m. at El Toro.

NYAC A beat Santa Barbara, 10-2, to open the second round of group play Saturday at El Toro High in a match that featured three Neushul sisters.

Stanford grads Jamie Neushul recorded a goal and Kiley Neushul had an assist for NYAC while incoming Stanford freshman Ryann Neushul scored for Santa Barbara.

Cathy Neushul and Thea Neushul are also listed on Santa Barbara’s roster though neither accumulated any statistics.

Sacred Heart Prep grad KK Clark also scored, as did Stanford grads Melissa Seidemann and Ashley Grossman. Cardinal alum Gabby Stone split time in goal with Ashleigh Johnson.

Seidemann scored five times in NYAC’s 16-2 victory over SoCal that clinched a spot in the championship. Clark, Maggie Steffens and Kiley Neushul each added two goals. Johnson and Stone each recorded six saves.

Menlo-Atherton and Stanford grad Kelly Eaton added a goal and assist for NYAC.

Ryann Neushul scored three times for Santa Barbara in a 12-6 win over SoCal A. Incoming Stanford freshman Madison Stamen scored for SoCal.

Incoming Stanford freshmen Chloe Harbilas and Thea Walsh played a big part in the USA Youth team’s 8-3 victory over the S & S Bruins. Harbilas lead the U.S. with two goals and added an assists while Walsh recorded 11 saves.

Harbilas also scored in Youth’s 17-8 win over the Wolverines.

Stanford grad Dani Jackovich made a field block in the final moments to help New York Athletic Club B edge Sunset San Diego, 5-4. Jackovich also scored a goal.
