Palo Alto firefighters used a ladder truck to rescue a construction worker who reportedly fell into a hole at the bottom of a basement in College Terrace on Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded at about 7:40 a.m. to a call in the 2100 block of Amherst Avenue, where a man fell while on a construction site. Paramedics from the Fire Department treated the worker and firefighters used a Stokes basket and a ladder truck to lift him out of the hole, which was between 4 and 6 feet deep, from bottom of the basement, which was 12 to 15 feet deep, Battalion Chief Bobby Davis said.
Davis said the man was conscious but suffered an injury from the fall. After paramedics treated him, he was transported to a local hospital, Davis said.
