Stanford women ranked 11th in preseason gymnastics poll

Stanford is ranked 11th in the preseason national coaches poll, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women.

Eight of the Cardinal's 10 regular season meets will feature at least one top-30 opponent, including three top-10 teams.

Stanford received 1,839 votes in the national coaches poll to join Pac-12 counterparts UCLA (No. 4), Utah (No. 5), California (No. 10), Oregon State (No. 13), Arizona (No. 18) and Washington (No. 20) in the top 25.

Stanford returned to the NCAA Championships for the 13th time in the past 16 years in 2016, with two gymnasts combining for five first-team All-America honors. The Cardinal finished fourth at the NCAA Championships Semifinals last season.

Stanford is one of seven teams in the nation to make at least seven Super Six appearances in the past 15 years (2002-16).

The Cardinal returns All-America gymnasts, Elizabeth Price and Nicolette McNair, along with a group of experienced returners and a talented freshman class.
