Foothill College tackles a beloved community-and-school-theater staple: Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town,” the tear-jerking play-within-a-play first staged back in 1938 about the beauty and tragedy of small-town life in Grover’s Corners, New England, U.S.A. Foothill’s production, directed by Bruce McLeod, promises some inventive new elements mixed in with the show’s traditionally minimalist setup. The show runs through Nov. 20, Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. at Lohman Theatre, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills. Tickets are $15-20. Go to Foothill Theatre.
