Kids can put on their costumes and celebrate Halloween a day early at the 22nd annual California Ave Trick-or-Treat & Halloween Carnival on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organized by Blossom Birth, the event will take place on S. California Ave. (between Park and Birch) and feature candy giveaways from 30 local businesses; performances by Andy Z, the Stanford Band, Dance Connection and School of Rock; a costume contest; Halloween photos; carnival games and crafts; story time from the Palo Alto Library; police and fire trucks for kids to explore; and an address by Palo Alto Mayor Pat Burt. The event is free and suitable for kids ages 0-12. Go to Halloween carnival.
