Man allegedly exposes himself to teen at Bol Park in Palo Alto

Police need public's help in identifying suspect

UPDATE: The Palo Alto Police Department released a sketch of the man who they said exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl at Bol Park in Palo Alto on Sept. 30 on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Palo Alto police are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a man who they said exposed himself to a teenage girl in a city park on Friday, Sept. 30.

The mother of the 14-year-old girl called police to report that a man had exposed himself to the girl as she rode her bicycle through Bol Park at about 4 p.m., according to a police department press release.

The teen, the mother told police, noticed a man seated on a nearby bench as she neared the playground area of the park. As she continued past the man, she noticed that he had pulled down his shorts, exposing his penis through his underpants.

The man remained seated throughout the incident and did not make any attempt to communicate with the girl, police said. She left the area and called her mother, who reported the incident to police.

The teen described the man as a tanned, white male in his 50s, with short, spikey white hair and a medium build. He was wearing a red T-shirt and cargo-style shorts.

Detectives are investigating to determine if this incident is connected to any other cases.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the police department’s 24-hour dispatch center at 650-329-2413. Anonymous tips can be emailed to

That's a popular bike path to Gunn High School and a popular playground. The guy sounds like a regular in that park. There must be witnesses. Please speak up and help the police put him behind bars. Thank you.
