Course serves up scientific cooking techniques


Ready for an adventure in gastronomy? Bold Food, which offers courses in the science of cooking and modernist cuisine for home cooks, is hosting a course in Los Altos on Saturday, Sept. 17, 1-5 p.m.

Learn about modern and scientific techniques, including how to use immersion circulators, the chamber vacuum sealer, the "smoking gun," a CVap oven, a Thermomix and other modernist equipment.

All experience levels are welcome. Cost is $165.
