Celebrate the spirit and culture of Mexico


Angelicas is hosting its first annual Mariachi Festival featuring Los Angeles-based "Mariachi Los Reyes" with a special guest appearance by Coro Redes y Cantos de Chapala for a weekend of music, food and culture to celebrate Fiestas Patrias, a celebration of Mexican independence, and Hispanic Heritage month.

The festival will take place Friday, Sept. 16, and Saturday, Sept. 17.

Also, visit Redwood City's Courthouse Square, which will be transformed into a colorful and festive setting for Fiestas Patrias, on Friday, Sept. 16, 4-8 p.m.

The free event will feature an arts-and-craft area, authentic Mexican cuisine from local restaurants, a traditional flag ceremony conducted by Consul General de Mexico, dacners from Ballet Folklorico, live mariachi music from Los Reyes de Los Angeles and a live performance by Los Fugitivos, a Mexican cumbia band.
