I wonder if the posters who object to Hillary Clinton having fundraisers in this area were similarly perturbed when Republican presidential candidates did the same?

If Hillary and Bill make it to the White House we will have a POTUS allegedly guilty of espionage, mishandling of classified material, perjury and money laundering. Her husband as the first man, is a disbarred lawyer and marital filanderer who was impeached while in office for lying about using his positional power to sexually exploit an intern.

As Secretary of State, HRC's foreign policy directly led to the collapse of the Middle East thereby creating a radicalized Sunni Caliphate in the Levant and Africa as well as a soon to be nuclearized Shia crescent stretching from Tehran to Demascus. She also niavely proposed invading Libya creating yet another failed state to harbor terrorists and then abandoned her ambassador to be murdered despite his having asked for additional security literally hundreds of times. Afterwards she delberatley lied to the families of the dead and blamed the catastrophe on a ridiculously false narrative about a video.

Her foundation accepted $100s of millions from the worst mysogynistic and homophobic regimes on the planet while creating a pay to play scheme to enrich her family, dole out political favors and provide a revolving door of crony employment between the state department, the foundation and Teneo consulting.

If elected, Huma Abedin will likely become her chief of staff. She was an assistant editor for 12 years on a radical Muslim journal which published streams of reports and position papers on why oppressing women's rights is a good thing and the US deserved 9/11. She is also married to the infamous Anthony Weiner who was run out of office after for multiple setting scandals.

Just imagine what other criminals, plants and political hacks will call in favors for appointments in her administration. Think about all of the above before you contribute a dime of pull the lever in November.

Sorry, all of the items I listed are facts.

I understand the need to continue the cognitive dissonance. It is the only way to get past the gag reflex on Election Day.

Otherwise, if you want to heal your conscience vote Trump.

I read four papers a day - SFC, SJN, WSJ, and NYT. Add in the TV shows CNN and FNS discussions. All of the papers take a different view of the happenings of the day. The NYT is not God Speak. Their current owner Arthur Ochs Sutzberger, Jr. is not the brightest light in the family tree and has his own scandals to deal with.
Facebook has many U-Tubes of actual government discussions on the hot issues and year 2008 Democratic debates between Hilary, Obama, and current VP - all had nasty things to say about each other.
As to Hilary's legal troubles those are actual actions which have happened. They are documented by actions published during the periods in question.
Do yourselves a favor and look at other sources of the news VS just accepting whatever any one paper will tell you. Each editor has an agenda and will work to that agenda.

I recall as a little boy being told that Bobby Kennedy campaigned in Palo Alto a day or two before his passing in June, 1968. It may have been in San Francisco... but my friend said he saw Bobby in Palo Alto. [Portion removed.]

I'm betting the traffic jams affect more than just old Palo Alto!

Ever notice that the only time these politicians come to town is when they want Silicon Valley money? And while the ultra-rich are included in these campaign money-stops, we the people pay the price?

A few years ago I was 30 minutes late to a crucial job interview because Obama visited, chose to arrive at rush hour, and freeway on-ramps were blocked in order to allow his royal-hiney to pass unobstructed. To hell with the people trying to manage their mundane, daily lives of trying to make a living. Later that day, my daughter missed her dream recital because it was in Los Altos, which was completely mired in traffic blockades because Obama was at a fundraiser in town.

And no, I have never been impacted like this with Republican candidates - only the Democrats descend on Silicon Valley and flood our streets begging for money, without giving a damn about the impact on the local population. Bush came here several times for various reasons, and the only impact my family suffered was about 10 seconds of helicopter noise.

Maybe it's just my family's bad luck, but it seems the democrats come here far more often to court the SV money, and screw up the lives of the rest of us in the process.

No Republican fundraisers because there are so few Republicans in silicon valley is a registered user.

Democratic candidates and officials come to Silicon Valley much more frequently than republicans for the simple reason that there are people with $$ here who support them. If the Donald tried to organize a fundraiser in Palo Alto, would anyone come? Or at least anyone ne with money?

Why does HRC need to raise more money?

The reason is Clinton Inc. is a multi-billion dollar industry. She is building a bigger and bigger machine to flood the media with propaganda, pay off other politicians and employ armies of political cronies as they rotate on a career path of corruption between Wall Street, Silicon Valley, the Clinton Cash Machine and government.

If you like globalist trade and immigration policies, a rigged stock market, foreign government influence, a growing wealth gap and shrinking middle class by all means open your wallet, hold your nose and close your mind.

By the way, maybe the reason more Republicans don't come here is because they might get beaten, harassed, shouted down and have eggs thrown at them while the police stand idly by and the local diversity and inclusivity spewing officials lecture them on tolerance and the brain washed populace cheers them on.

Why is it that people like Shallow Alto cannot accept the truth about Hillary Clinton? Criminal Syndicate has the facts correct, yet the truth deniers in the Democrat Party look the other way. If the shoe was on the other foot and the charges were made of a Republican candidate, the press would be on it 24/7 until the election. Hillary conveniently, hasn't held a press conference in over 250 days. What's she afraid of?

Criminal,

Yes what you said is true! As long as you use the terms 'Allegedly Guilty' before your accusations, and use words like 'Likely' before presenting what ever you want as facts, you can be technically correct--but still be completely wrong.
You have been brainwashed, so you probably believe all that you say is gospel. I would bet you think Obama was a bad president and yearn for the good old days of W, recession and wars.

You people who say that Republicans don't come to Palo Alto looking for money must have missed the big one for Reagan, and I'm sure there have been others. My father was invited. Back then it was only $1000 to attend, but that was long ago.

I want Hillary and Bill in the White House. Maybe we can get rid of the debt instead of building a wall around the country. Criminal Syndicate sounds like a broken record, or, worse - a parrot. Spreading malicious rumors and innuendo. Look at the pictures of Monica L. Does she look like she was under duress? Was she an adult? Was he a notch in her belt? Sheesh.

She wasn't under duress? What the heck does that mean? He wasn't either. He could and should have said 'no, what the hell are you doing?'. Why would a man in his position even think about being tempted by a lady like her? And of all places, in the White House? And I'll bet he had a smile on his face as she was adding a notch in her belt. That story has passed and he is held up again as being a great president and all is forgiven for his indiscretions. Was that the last one? Hmmm! I'll bet Hillary is wondering the same thing. Will they have separate bedrooms in the White House?

Billybob: The last time President Obama came to Palo Alto, I was trapped on the wrong side of Embarcadero Road, which I was not permitted to cross. I was very late for my appointment; I had to park far from where I was headed and walk and jog the rest of the way. So I'm wondering, where do the Rau's live, so I won't get caught again when I head for my 3:30 class.

I am assuming that if Hillary wins and Bill is the First Hubby, all of their loud domestic quarrels will resume. The two haven't lived together in 16 years!.

Personally, I hope the two candidates are BOTH disqualified from running for president. There have never been two more polarizing candidates in history. Maybe we could get a do-over!

Gale Johnson: there were two people involved in that affair. What I object to is language used by Criminal Syndicate making it look like the Prez forced her to do it. Sure, he could have said no. Character fault. But what part did Monica play, and why did she save the dress? Planning on using it, laying a trap. Come on! I notice no one had a problem with my mention of Republicans who have come to town for money. Sex is always a popular subject. Speculation even better. Ptui, as Snoopy would say.

@ Criminal Syndicate- did you miss that memo? Gone is the middle class. The poverty line goes straight to the doorstep of the top 11 cronies in cronieland. No middle class at all. Most citizens are barely paying their bills, with nothing extra at the end of the month. The musical chairs that began in 2006 have only been supplanted with rhetoric about silicon this and silicon that. Tell the truth, do you know anyone who is actually a real living member of the middle class that was born after 1964?

Incidentally, Huma Abedin is a Myslim, but it is her mother who is radicalized an runs an extremist publication. Huma actually has nothing to do with it, but her mother misuses and abuses her semi-famous name to make her publication look more credible.

As for that little turd Anthony Wiener, heaven knows why Ms Abedin allows him to continue to humiliate her. She doesn't need him! Perhaps she needs some counseling to help her make that break.

@ Criminal

Disclosure. I am a registered Democrat. But I have voted for both Republican and Democratic candidates for president and state level positions so I consider myself an independent. I admit I voted for Reagan and Bush both of them but I also voted for Clinton and Obama. I regret ever voting for Bush, the son, and I am proud to have voted for Obama.

You need to educate yourself on economics and what really happens in this country. Read Capital in the 21st-Century by Thomas Picketty, a French economist. He points out through data that the wealth disparity grew starting in the 1980's, during Reagan. It has continued growing since then most especially during the Bush administration. So much for "Reagonomics!"

Bush got us into two wars that Obama is still trying to get us out of. Obama inherited the worst economic situation since the Great Depression. He took us away from the brink of collapse and has grown the economy and jobs more significantly than any other president.

The only people that Trump appeals to are angry white men who blame everything on immigration and racial diversity. You need to take your bias and go home.

We live in a global economy! If we do not act as a global partner (not tyrant), we will not thrive.

Bill Clinton's crimes and punishments are a matter of historical record. Hillary's crimes were well documented in the State Department's Inspector General Report, the FBI investigation, the Federal Records Act, the Federal Information Systems Act, and news organizations like the NYT and AP.

Huma Abedin's resume, quadruple dipping pay arrangement and conflicts of interest are part of the public record from the Muslim Minority Affairs web site and its publications as well as emails from Hillary and a title change form submitted to the State Department.

For the doubters, below is a summary that you can easily look up yourself.

Fact - Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives on Dec. 19th, 1998 for perjury and obstruction of justice.
Fact - Bill Clinton was disbarred in the state of Arkansas and from making arguments in front of the Supreme Court. He was also fined over $90k for lying to the court and agreed to a settlement for $850,000 in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case.
Fact - the inspector general report at the State Department confirmed that Secretary Clinton violated department policy by setting up multiple private unsecured servers without permission in order to to conduct government business with the intent of avoiding the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and no other Secretary has done so either before or since.
Fact - the IG also found she did not turn over all email or documents when she left office as required by the Federal Records Act. We now know she turned over 22,000 twenty one months later, deleted 33,000 that were never recovered and the FBI found another 15,000 in its investigation which may be made public within the next 30 days.
Fact - the FBI investigation concluded HRC did send or receive information that was classified and marked so at the time
Fact - the IG report confirmed the email system did not comply with security measures required by the Federal Information Systems Act. It is very likely it was hacked but I won't claim that as fact YET until Wikileaks or the Russians release them.
Fact - Hillary Clinton perjured herself during her testimony before Congress by making multiple statements under oath that have since been proven demonstrably not true.
Fact - Bill Clinton met privately with the Attorney General while both he, his wife and his foundation were under investigation by her office. A clear breach of legal ethics and protocol.
Fact - Huma Abedin was listed as assistant editor at the Muslim Minority Affairs Journal from 1996 to 2008. During that time, it published reports promoting conservative values for Muslim women, disavowing gay rights and blaming the US for 9/11
Fact - Huma Abedin is married to Anthony Weiner. He resigned his position in the House of Representatives in 2012 due to a sexting scandal. He attempted to renew his political career by running for mayor of NYC but was caught sexting again with three different women during the campaign.
Fact - Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills and other members of the Clinton staff worked simultaneously for the state department, the Clinton foundation, Teneo consulting and her presidential campaign
Fact - despite signing an agreement not to do so before taking office at the State Department, the clinton foundation accepted over $150M in donations from both foreign countries as well as commercial enterprises that did business with the State Department creating a clear conflict of interest.
Fact - according to the associated press, over half of the people that HRC had meetings with donated to her foundation.

I can go on and on but this is turning into the encyclopedia of government graft and corruption. The Clintons have destroyed the historical reputations of the FBI Director, the Attorney General and President Obama for allowing this to go on under their watch. An independent prosecutor needs to be assigned and the foundation needs to be shut down.

Think of the precedent of allowing government officials to run their own information systems in the blind free from audit or scrutiny. Also, setting up symbiotic foundations and private "consulting" firms funded by foreign governments and business people that can sell access, influence and bypass the elected decision making process.

Therefore, voting for Hillary is immoral. The multi-billion dollar Clintons Inc. is a threat to our democracy and every vote for her is a tiny theft of liberty from our county.

P.S.S.

@MJM1 - you really need to go back and re-read Capital in the 21st-Century by Thomas Picketty. Clearly his data shows a u-shaped curve where income disparity was worse before WWII, then narrowed through the period until about 1980 and then rose up again steadily through the 2000s. He also showed it was a global phenomenon for both western and emerging economies. Hard to blame Reagan and the Republicans for inequality in every country.

One of his central points is the proposition that when the rate of return on capital exceeds the rate of economic growth, inequality tends to rise.

If we accept his data as true, then a strong argument can be made that the slower economic growth in western economies caused by tax and spend socialist policies has increased the inequality because in a globalized economy the wealthy can seek greater rates of return on their capital around the world while the workers are forced to remain in their own slower growing countries.

This actually fits the pattern of exactly what everybody is complaining about in the west. The globalists outsource, off shore and seek profits in faster growing international markets. The labor at home sees dwindling opportunity as wages stagnate in country and the quality of life decreases.

In other words, globalization has increased the rate of return on capital for the wealthy, government policies have slowed economic growth in the west and the middle class has been squeezed in the middle.
