Local divers show they are among the best in the country


Stanford diving's Francesca Noviello earned the 12-13 girls 1-meter championship at the AT&T USA Diving National Championships last weekend at the Moose Moss Aquatics Center in Moultrie, GA.

Noviello also placed among the top 10 in both both platform and 3-meter in Georgia. The meet continues through this weekend.

Stanford's Remi Edvalson turned in consistently quality effort across the boards, finishing second to Noviello on the 1-meter (276.60 to 275.65) and third on both platform and 3-meter.

Supisara Shaulel Lim placed fourth on the 3-meter, an event she won last year at the 12-year-old level.

Palo Alto grad Mimi Lin, third in the state on the 1-meter last spring, placed ninth in the 16-18 girls platform and 12th on the 3-meter.

In boys action, Ron Terwey placed seventh in 12-13 boys platform and 11th on the 3-meter. Palo Alto's Reed Merritt placed 12th in the 16-18 boys platform and 10th on the 3-meter.

For high school Mimi Lin was the first individual state champion in Palo Alto history on the 1 meter!!!
