Stanford men's basketball gets Pac-12 schedule, sort of

The Pac-12 Conference provided home-away designations and date windows for the 2016-17 Stanford men's basketball league schedule on Tuesday.

While the home-away designations are set for each week, exact dates and order of opponents within each five-day window will be announced once television selections are completed.

Selections are expected to be finalized in early September by the conference's television partners.

The Cardinal will open conference play against Arizona and Arizona State during the five-day window from Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016.

Seven Stanford sailors were named to the Intercollegiate Sailing Association All-Academic team, as announced Tuesday by the organization.

The team recognizes collegiate sailors who have achieved excellence in national and inter-conference competition as well as excelling at the highest academic level for the 2014-15 academic year.

Stanford's selections included Reinier Eenkema van Dijk, Nikki Obel, Daniel Ron, Axel Sly, Samantha Steele, Maeve White and Yuki Yoshiyasu.

The criteria for the honorees are that he or she must be a junior or senior, have at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale, and be a starter or key reserve in at least seven university sponsored regattas.

A seven-person committee comprised of representatives from conferences in the ICSA evaluates the nominated sailors. This year's team is comprised of 146 members.
