Caps hit and pitch way to two victories

In winning their last two games the Pacific Union Capitalists showed they can do it with booming bats as well as with shut-down pitching.

After a 19-7 win over the Menlo Park Legends on Saturday the Caps returned to action with a 3-1 victory over the San Luis Obispo Blues on Tuesday.

The Caps hit four home runs in the win over Menlo Park. Austin Todd hit two homers. Andrew Daschbach and Javier Valdes hit one each. Daschbach had four RBIs. Kona Quiggle had three hits.

RJ Williams homered for the Legends.

It was a different kind of ball game on Tuesday.

The Caps were on the road as Darryl Reyes, Jake Lewis and Dominic Fletcher combined on a two-hitter.

Reyes went the first 5 2/3 to get the win. Fletcher threw 2 2/3 innings of hitless relief to pick up his first save. He also had two hits and an RBI at the plate.
