Andrew Daschbach leads Pacific Union over Menlo Park Legends

 

Andrew Daschbach doubled and scored three runs Saturday as the Pacific Union Capitalists defeated the Menlo Park Legends 13-9.

Daschbach, a three-sport star at Sacred Heart Prep, will play baseball at Stanford.

Turner Bishop homered and drove in five runs for a Legends team (12-6-1) that was coming off a couple wins.

In a clash of teams nicknamed Legends, Menlo Park defeated the Long Beach Legends 6-5 on Friday and 9-0 on Saturday.

In the Saturday game, Tyler Ivey and Alex Hernandez combined on a three-hit shutout. Ivey went the first six innings, allowing one hit and striking out seven. Hernandez fanned four in three innings of relief, picking up the save.

Patrick McColl led the team offensively with three hits and three RBIs. Clayton Casey had four hits, a double and three singles.

Phil Caulfield led the team in the win on Friday by reaching base in all four plate appearances out of the No. 2 hole in the lineup. He had two hits band two walks, scored two runs and had a stolen base. Sean Watkins drove in two runs.
