Future Cardinal men named All-American in volleyball

Four Stanford incoming freshmen were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association High School All-American Team, comprised only of seniors.

Eric Beatty (Huntington Beach) and Paulie Bischoff (Glenbard West) were first team selections and Jacob Theonen (Christian) and Eli Wopat (Dos Pueblos) were tabbed for the second team.

This year's group of 20 student-athletes represents 16 high schools from across the country. Huntington Beach High School and Loyola High School of Los Angeles lead all schools, each with three AVCA All-Americans.

UC Santa Barbara lands the most commits with five (all on the second-team). Reigning NCAA champion Ohio State is the only other school with at least three.
