Police: East Palo Alto man dies from gunshot wounds

Victim identified Monday as Christopher Puckett, 30

An East Palo Alto resident died Friday evening after police found him with apparent gunshot wounds, according to the East Palo Alto Police Department.

The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office identified the man Monday afternoon as Christopher Maurice Puckett, 30.

According to the police, East Palo Alto officers responded to a Shotspotter activation on the 2400 block of Illinois Street at about 10:05 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers discovered the male suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Medics responded and tried to resuscitate him, but the injuries sustained were life-threatening and the victim died at the scene, police said.
