Rep. Anna Eshoo will host a reception on Friday, May 20, in Mountain View to honor this year's U.S. Service Academy appointees from the 18th Congressional District.

Every year, Eshoo nominates a number of constituents who live in the 18th District to the U.S. service academies, which are ranked among the finest educational institutions in the world, and prepare cadets and midshipmen for a lifetime of service in the armed services, according to a press release.

The reception will take place at Moffett Federal Airfield, 5-6:30 p.m.

The 10 young women and men appointed to a U.S. service academy includes: Charles Stephenson of Palo Alto (West Point); Alejandro Tombrink of San Jose (West Point); Katherine Barrett of Palo Alto (U.S. Naval Academy); Gunnar Jongebloed of Menlo Park (U.S. Naval Academy); Cherry Jung of San Jose (U.S. Naval Academy); Karthik Padmanabhan of Saratoga (U.S. Naval Academy); Kevin Hansen, Redwood City (U.S. Air Force Academy); Dylan Zorn of Los Altos (U.S. Air Force Academy); Wolfgang Rehbock of Los Gatos (U.S. Air Force Academy); and Kevin Semma of Redwood City (Naval Academy Preparatory School).
