Menlo's Morgan earns GSAC Player of the Week softball honors

Menlo College softball recently concluded a highly-successful Arizona road trip in which they went 5-1, including a win over conference-leading Arizona Christian.

A major part of the Oaks' success over the weekend can be attributed to the big bat of sophomore slugger Alaina Morgan who went 6-for-18 with five home runs, eight RBI and scored eight runs.

Her efforts with the bat earned her GSAC Player of the Week honors. Morgan's nine home runs ranks her 12th in the nation and she is now just two behind Menlo College Hall of Famer Amanda Colon for home runs in a single season.

Morgan and the Oaks hit the road for four critical conference games this weekend as they take on Hope International on Friday and San Diego Christian on Saturday.
