Birthday bash at Blue Bottle Coffee

Third-wave coffee pioneer Blue Bottle Coffee started serving its crafted cups of java in downtown Palo Alto at the historic Varsity Theater last March, and this Saturday, March 19, the cafe is celebrating its one-year birthday with a party complete with its famed coffee and free goodies.

The bash will take place at the cafe inside HanaHaus, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The first 50 guests will receive a free journal from luxury watch retailer Shinola as well as Blue Bottle chocolate chip cookies (while supplies last). There will be a live musical performance from local group China at noon and SoulCycle will be setting up standing bikes and giving out free "rides" 2-4 p.m.

Also, be the first to taste Blue Bottle's ready-to-drink Cold Brew, which will be debuted at the event.

Blue Bottle Coffee is located at 456 University Ave. For more information, visit eventbrite.com.
