Battle of the brewers at Freewheel

The Freewheel Home Brew Club will be hosting a Battle of the Beer Clubs on Sunday, Jan. 24, at Freewheel Brewing Company in Redwood City.

The brewing competition, which starts at 11 a.m. on the patio, is part of SF Beer Week, a nine-day marathon of beer dinners, tastings, tap takeovers and educational events that occur all over the Bay Area.

Grab a hand-crafted ale in Freewheel's Taproom, talk to beer enthusiasts and learn how brew is made. The winning brew will be decided by Freewheel brewers Malcolm McGinnis and Alisha Blue.

The first-place winner will brew the winning recipe with McGinnis and Blue on Freewheel's professional system. The second-place winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Freewheel.
