A hike and a drink in the outdoors

Looking for a more immersive outdoor experience? Go "wiking" (hiking and wine tasting) this Saturday, Jan. 23 with the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST).

POST is holding a free 5-mile afternoon hike at the Windy Hill Open Space Preserve in Portola Valley, 1-4 p.m. "Wikers" will hike to the overlook (a 2 1/2 mile up-hill climb) where they will sample wines from Best Coast Wines. Best Coast Winemaker Grant Ebert will also be present.

Participants should wear sturdy walking shoes, layered clothing and bring plenty of water.

The meet-up location and route will be made available after sign-up.
