Rediscover the joy of roller skating

 

Skate down memory lane on one of the last remaining roller rinks on the Peninsula on Sunday, Jan. 17.

The Peninsula Roller Girls is hosting a free Open Skate and Community Open House at the Redwood Roller Rink, at 1303 Main St, Redwood City, 4:15-6:15 p.m., to celebrate the rink's 60th birthday.

Watch live demonstrations of women's and junior roller derby as well as local speed skaters and artistic performers who compete at the world level. There will be information tables for those interested in roller derby clubs and lessons.
