Portola Valley resident Dakota McNealy will continue his academic and golf career at Stanford in the fall of 2016.
"We are excited to welcome Dakota McNealy to the Stanford family," said Stanford golf coach Conrad Ray. "He is amazing in the classroom, first and foremost, but also a tremendous athlete. He displays strong qualities when it comes to work ethic and upside in the game. He also believes in our team culture and will add a lot to our group."
McNealy, a multi-sport athlete, is currently a senior at Harker School in Santa Clara and tested in the 98th percentile on each section of the SAT.
McNealy is a regular competitor on the Northern California Golf Association amateur circuit as well as Future Collegians World Tour junior events.
One of the top golfers in the Bay Area, McNealy also is a first-degree black belt, four-time captain of the Junior Sharks AA hockey team and accomplished pianist.
