PUBLIC AGENDA: Library Strategic Plan, fiber network, Comprehensive Plan committee


A preview of Palo Alto government meetings for the week of Aug. 31.

CITY COUNCIL ... The council plans to hear presentations on the Library Strategic Plan, 2015-17; hold a study session to discuss the Parks, Trails, Open Space and Recreation Master Planning Process; discuss options for using the 7.7-acre site at Foothills Park; review the goals and vision statements of the Community Services and Facilities Element and the Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan; and appoint five additional members to the Comprehensive Plan Update Citizens Advisory Committee. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 250 Hamilton Ave. Read the agenda here.

UTILITIES ADVISORY COMMISSION ... The commission plans to discuss the Final Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Recycled Water Distribution Project; consider a recommendation that the city defer issuing a request for information about partnership opportunities for the Fiber-to-the-Premise network; and hear an update on the impacts of the statewide drought on water and hydroelectric supplies. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 250 Hamilton Ave. Read the agenda here.

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD ... The board plans to discuss a proposed reduction in the number of findings the board needs to make for approval. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 250 Hamilton Ave. The board will then hold a retreat at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Meeting Room to discuss the 2015 Design Awards.
