Oaks fall twice at Biola Summer Slam volleyball event

 

The Menlo College women's volleyball team completed it's opening weekend of play Friday, dropping a pair of matches, 25-21, 25-20, 25-12 to Great Falls and 25-20, 25-15, 25-23 to Montana Tech at the Biola Summer Slam tournament.

The Oaks (0-4) travel to San Francisco State for an exhibition match on Wednesday night and then takes on Oregon Tech at the UC Merced tournament on Friday afternoon.

Menlo struggled to get the offense rolling, hitting just .029 in the loss to the Argonauts and .197 against the Orediggers.

Freshman Maddie Clegg had a solid day on the attack, leading the Oaks with a combined 17 kills in two matches. She also was credited with four blocks on the afternoon.

Maggie McDonald added eight kills, setter Kori Paradis recorded 37 assists, 17 digs and five service aces. Freshman Malia Luis-Mateo collected a team-best 22 digs, while Maggie McDonald had 12.
