More gold for Stanford recruit Eastin at Jr. Nationals

Stanford incoming freshman Ella Eastin won her second event in as many days at the Speedo Junior National Swimming Championships in San Antonio on Friday.

The Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics Club turned in a solid effort in placing third in the women's 400 free relay. The team of recent Gunn High grad Jennifer Campbell, Chloe Isleta, Palo Alto junior Grace Zhao and Castilleja sophomore Isabelle Henig went 3:49.79, less than a second behind second-place Santa Clara, and two seconds behind the winning SwimMac team.

Campbell also finished fourth in the 'C' final of the 100 free, going 57.05.

Eastin went 4:42.52 in earning her second cowboy hat, handed out along with the gold medal. She won the 200 fly on opening night.

PASA male swimmers also fared well in the 400 IM, as Sean Lee placed fifth in 4:26.26 and Joe Molinari finished seventh in 4:26.57. Palo Alto senior Alex Liang was 15th in 4:26.51.

Liang won the 'C' final but moved up in the final standings when two swimmers were disqualified in the 'B' final.

PASA's Benjamin Ho was 15th in the 200 back in 2:04.26, and was joined by Liang, Molinari and Albert Gwo in finishing fourth in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:27.13.
