Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan has been named to the watch list for the Manning Award. The list includes 30 of the top quarterbacks in the nation heading into the 2015 season.
Hogan returns as Stanford's quarterback after starting 37 games over the past three seasons. He has guided the Cardinal to two Rose Bowls and was named the 2014 Foster Farms Bowl Offensive MVP to finish last year's campaign. The fifth-year senior from McLean, Virginia, has thrown for 6,518 yards in his career to go along with 48 passing touchdowns and another nine on the ground.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.
The winner will be announced on January 13.
Stanford's season opens Sept. 5 with a 9 a.m. PT game at Northwestern on ESPN. The home slate starts one week later against UCF (Sept. 12) at 7:30 p.m. on FOX Sports 1.
