A teenager is recovering after being shot in East Palo Alto on Monday, June 8, according to police.

Around 10:15 p.m., the East Palo Alto Police Department responded to a report of gunfire recorded by the city’s ShotSpotter gun-shot detection system on the 2100 block of Oakwood Drive. A 17-year-old East Palo alto resident was injured with non-life threatening wounds. The victim was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

At this time, the motive for the shooting and the identity of the suspect is unknown, police said.
