Government closures, hours for Memorial Day weekend

Palo Alto garbage collection is following normal schedule on Monday, May 25

Got a complaint to file or a parking ticket to pay at City Hall? Looking to travel by bus or rail? Here's a list of Memorial Day service closures and changes.

City services

Airport -- The Palo Alto Municipal Airport will remain open with regular hours

City of Palo Alto offices -- Closed

Development Center -- Closed

Garbage pickup -- All collection services will remain the same for Memorial Day and the rest of the week

Library -- All branches will be closed on Sunday, May 24, and Monday, May 25

Parks -- Open

Police, fire -- Active patrols and response teams are operational; records and administrative services are closed

Utilities -- Office is closed; call for emergency services

Schools

Palo Alto Unified School District administration and schools -- Closed

Transportation

Caltrain -- Service will operate on the Sunday schedule. See caltrain.com

Palo Alto Shuttle -- No service

SamTrans -- Service will operate on the Sunday schedule. See samtrans.com

Stanford Marguerite -- Limited service. The only routes operating will be Line EB, Line HD, Medical Center, Medical Center: Holiday, Shopping Express: Special, and Line W. See transportation.stanford.edu

VTA -- Buses operate on the Sunday schedule; Dumbarton Express will not run on Memorial Day. Some other South Bay light rail lines and buses may not run. Go to tinyurl.com/kk55m24

Federal, state offices

All offices are closed

U.S. Postal Service -- No mail deliveries except for Amazon parcels. All Palo Alto offices will be closed.
