Burglar sought after stealing drugs from Palo Alto pharmacy

A burglar broke into Maximart Pharmacy in Palo Alto early Thursday morning and stole drugs before getting away, according to Palo Alto police.

The suspect entered the store, 240 Cambridge Ave., between 3 and 10 a.m. April 16, police Sgt. Craig Lee said. The burglar got away with "narcotic drugs in liquid form," police said.

The suspect smashed the front plate glass door to gain entry. Lee said the cost incurred by the damage to the door far exceeds that of the stolen drugs. Despite the break-in, the pharmacy was open Friday.

Police do not have any suspect information and are investigating, Lee said.

Anyone with information pertaining to the incident is asked to call the police department's 24-hour dispatch center at 650-329-2413. Anonymous tips can be emailed to paloalto@tipnow.org or sent via text message or voice mail to 650-383-8984.
