Man fatally shot in East Palo Alto


Police in East Palo Alto this morning are investigating a Wednesday night shooting death.

Police responded at 6:05 p.m. to the 1300 block of Camellia Drive in reference to shots fired and located a man suffering from gunshot wounds sitting in a white Lexus sedan.

The victim, identified as Steven Porter Jr., 36, of San Jose, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect was described as an unidentified man wearing dark clothing, police said.

The suspect was seen fleeing the scene on foot on Camellia Drive toward Jasmine Way.
