PHOTOS: Haircuts for the homeless

Downtown Streets Team, a nonprofit that provides homeless men and women and those at-risk of becoming homeless with housing, work experience, and the opportunity to be part of the community through volunteer work, held its Sidewalk Salon event in Palo Alto at All Saints Episcopal Church, 555 Waverley St., on Monday, Jan. 12.

Twelve Downtown Streets Team members received new hairdos from two San Francisco-based hair stylists and volunteers, Antoinette and Tania.

Sidewalk Salon is a nonprofit that provides haircuts to the homeless. The organization partners with volunteers from local hair salons and cosmetology schools to help those less fortunate.
