Stanford quartet honored on all-region field hockey team

Four Stanford players were named Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region selections, as announced Monday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

Kelsey Harbin, Alex McCawley and Dulcie Davies were selected to the first team, while Maddie Secco received second-team honors.

The quartet becomes eligible for All-America recognition, which will be announced Dec. 1.

Harbin received first-team honors for the third consecutive year, while McCawley claimed the first first-team selection of her career after earning second-team honors each of the past two years.

Dulcie Davies claimed the first All-Region honor of her career and Secco was named to the second team for the second straight year.

The Cardinal (19-3) produced the best season in program history, including winning its first NCAA Tournament game and setting program records in victories (19), winning streak (12 games) and national ranking (No. 3). Stanford went 4-1 against the top 10 and 6-2 against the top 20.

USA Swimming has announced its pool coaching staffs for three major international competitions in 2015 – the FINA World Championships, Pan American Games and World University Games.
