An expected heavy rainstorm this weekend is already taking its toll on outdoor activities at Stanford, with two events already cancelled and a third in jeopardy.

Friday’s tennis match between No. 38 Stanford and No. 3 USC at the Taube Family Tennis Center has been cancelled due to rain.

The teams were set to square off at 1:30 p.m. The match will not be rescheduled.

Stanford (3-1) and USC (4-0) will meet in Los Angeles on Friday, April 4, in a Pac-12 counting match.

Today’s contest continues a six-match homestand for Stanford, which is scheduled to host No. 2 UCLA on Sunday at 12 p.m. (weather permitting).

Stanford’s annual intrasquad baseball game, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been cancelled due to impending rain. The event will not be made up.

Stanford opens the 2014 regular season Feb. 14 at home against Rice. The 4:30 p.m. opener will televised live on Pac-12 Networks.
