Police arrest Palo Alto massage therapist for sexual battery

Rajesh Kumar Vashisht committed crimes while employee at LaBelle Day Spa & Salon, police say

Police arrested a Palo Alto massage therapist for the sexual battery of four young women in 2012.

Rajesh Kumar Vashisht of Menlo Park committed sexual battery on a woman in her late teens while he was an employee of La Belle Day Spa & Salon at 855 El Camino Real (Town & Country Village), according to police. A subsequent investigation revealed that he had committed sexual battery on three other women between 20 and 30 years old while he worked at La Belle's Stanford Shopping Center location.

Vashisht was no longer an employee at the salon by the time the last three investigations were revealed, according to a police press release.

Police presented the case to the District Attorney's Office, which filed charges against Vashisht. He surrendered himself to police on Dec. 18, at which point he was charged for misdemeanor sexual battery. He was released after posting bail, police stated.

Detectives aren't aware of any other victims but ask anyone with information about Vashisht to call 650-329-2413, send an anonymous tip to paloalto@tipnow.org or text message or voice mail to 650-383-8984.
