VIDEO: Vegas comes to Palo Alto

This year's Palo Alto Black & White Ball featured a Vintage Las Vegas theme that included blackjack tables, a poker room and a roulette wheel to go with live music and dancing. Singer and Dean Martin impersonator Matt Helm performed, as did Foreverland, a 14-piece Michael Jackson tribute band.

The benefit event was held Saturday night, Sept. 29, at the Lucie Stern Community Center. It happens every other year and usually attracts about a thousand attendees, organizers said. Proceeds go to Palo Alto schools and community groups such as the Palo Alto Library Foundation, Partners in Education (PiE) and Youth Community Service (YCS).
