Two Oaks earn Cal Pac weekly honors

 

Menlo College seniors Stephenie Monderine and Erika Savela were named Cal Pac Conference Players of the Week in their respective sports it was announced Monday.

Monderine won the honor in women's volleyball after recording 31 digs in two matches last week. She also had 20 kills.

The Oaks lost 3-1 to La Sierra University on Thursday in Atherton and won 3-0 over Mills College in Oakland on Friday. Monderine is fifth in the conference in kills per set (2.81) and sixth in points per set.

Menlo (1-0, 4-6) has one match this week, meeting UC Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz on Saturday.

Savela had three goals, with seven shots on goal, in two matches for the Oaks to earn women's soccer honors.

Menlo (6-2) hosts two matches this week, entertaining Marymount College on Friday and Southern Oregon on Saturday.
