• Family: 'Holiday Skating on the Square'

Downtown Redwood City's Courthouse Square is hosting family "ice skating" (on a synthetic rink) tomorrow (Dec. 22) from 2 to 9 p.m. General admission is $10 on weekdays and $12 on weekends, including skate rental, for sessions of about an hour and a half. Skating continues periodically through Jan. 16; for a complete schedule, go to redwoodcity.org.

The 33rd Annual Palo Alto Weekly Short Story Contest is now accepting entries for Adult, Young Adult (15-17) and Teen (12-14) categories. Send us your short story (2,500 words or less) and entry form by March 29. First, Second and Third Place prizes awarded in each category.
